Comanche Noon Lions Club will host a charter banquet at PAR Country Club on Tuesday March 16 at 7 p.m. The Comanche Evening Lions Club sponsors the new club with District 2 E Cubs expected. honored guests include Lt Gov Ben Barnes Lions International past president Herb C Perry Jr and Lions District Governor Lloyd Neelley. Wayne Pinkerton leads the new group and charter members are listed. Neelley, a Wichita Falls Lions member and longtime educator, is highlighted with his civic and professional credits. Perry, from Carrizo Springs, is a former Lions International president with a storied career in law, banking, and public service.

Sidney School Taxpayers Favor Pay-As-Go Plan
At a March 5 meeting the Sidney School Board reported that over 85 percent of 120 attendees favored funding to maintain a school. A poll showed 14.1 percent support for a tax increase, 37.5 percent for an $8,000 boost, and 48.4 percent for enough to build a new gymnasium. On March 8 the board decided to pursue the extra $8,000 but defer gym construction.

Attorney Advises Proctor Voters Not to Attend Hearing
