Tax Exemption Deadline For 21 Year Old Voters Listed
The Tax Assessor-Collector office in Comanche reminds residents turning 21 this year that they may vote in the upcoming elections if they have an exemption receipt received 30 days before the election. Deputy George R. Goosby notes a revised rule allows 21 year olds to vote in the year they turn 21 with the certificate. The first Democratic primary is set for Saturday July 26 and exemptions must be filed by Thursday June 26. Pink Scott a Longtime Sandhill Farmer Dies
Pink Scott about 85 a well known farmer and rancher of Sandhill in the counties northwest dies Saturday night. Funeral services were held Monday at 3 PM at Sandhill Church with interment in the local Cemetery. Scott a bachelor lived with brother John Scott and was active in community affairs.

Gustine 4-H girls met June 16 with Sue Seago hosting. They planned a July 5 shower at 2 30 p.m. at Seago’s home, inviting other county clubs to join the farewell event. Eighteen attended and officers were elected for the coming year. A whipped cream gelatin cake frosting demonstration by Roma Louie Elms followed, with coconut macaroons and punch by Sue. The next meeting is July 7 at Mrs. Herbert Accock’s home.
