Co manche Tax Assessor-Collector warns residents that 21 year olds with exemption receipts 30 days before election may vote. Deputy George R Goosby cites a revised ruling allowing 21st birthday voters to cast ballots in the year they turn 21 if exemption certificates are issued 30 days prior. The first Democratic primary is July 26 with exemptions due by June 26.
Pink Scott a bachelor well known farmer and rancher of Sandhill in the county northwest died Saturday night. Funeral services were held Monday at 3 PM at Sandhill Church with interment in the local cemetery. He lived with his brother John Scott and was active in community affairs.

The Texas Department of Agriculture will hold a special hearing on June 30 at 2 PM in the Comanche County Courtroom to decide whether to exempt Comanche County from a Texas Herbicide program. D. Johnston of Comanche County PMA notes several farmers and ranchers have applied to use herbicides to kill weeds and brush and urges attendance.
Robert Kirksey, fireman first class, U S N, son of Mr and Mrs Robert E Kirksey of Brownwood Texas, serves aboard the submarine U S S Chart with the Pacific Fleet. He trained at San Diego and the Class A Engineering School and reported for submarine duty February 18 1952 after serving on the U S N Nerus.

Officers were elected for another year and a July 5 shower at 2 30 p m at Sue Seago s home was planned for Billy Bolton Gresham along with a demonstration on whipped cream gelatin cake frosting and coconut macaroons.
