Peanut quotas for 1948 to be announced July first

Softball All Star Double Bill Set For Saturday Night
An all star softball double header is scheduled at the local ball park for Saturday night June 28. The German girls meet Comanche in the opener and Comanche and Fastland men clash in the nightcap. Comanche girls have lost two one run games this season with Gorman and Helen Elliott pitched well. Comanche men, led by manager Charley Marshall, have won three straight after an opening loss to Eastland. Eastland brings a strong team and Marshall expects one of the season’s best games. Admission is 25 cents for adults and 10 cents for students. Fifteen new all star uniforms blue with gold trim, purchased by local firms, will arrive by game time.

Comanche Lions Club closed its best year in history Tuesday night with a banquet for 171 ranchers and farmers and 138 Lions.
