Texas REA approves record $5.2 million loan for Brazos River Coop
The Rural Electrification Administration grants a $5.2 million loan to the Brazos River Transmission Electric Cooperative to build 687 miles of line and two steam plants across Central and North Texas. The project will serve 18 member cooperatives from Seymour to Nava‑Sota and extend service from McGregor to Belton, with Bell County hosting one steam unit. Comanche County expects $250,000 to $400,000 of the funds.

Clemons Motor Company starts building on Fort Worth Highway
Digging the foundation began last week for the Clemons Motor Company building one block east of the square on the Fort Worth Highway. The 67 by 120 foot brick and tile structure will include a 42 by 67 foot basement and is slated as a modern Ford facility in this region. Ira Clemons, owner, expects completion soon though no date is given. He plans to sell his current shop to Clarence Bigas, who operates auto parts, Ford Ferguson implements, and owns the adjacent southern building.
