Moving To New Location In Hamilton’s Building

J. H. Huff will move to half of the N. W. Story Building near the square, taking space from the Gas Company. He plans an exclusive jewelry and optometry shop with expanded inventory and nicer quarters, starting about the first of next month. New fixtures will replace Huff’s space in Hamilton’s Drug Store.

A major religious gathering is planned for Comanche County at the Tabernacle in Comanche starting Sunday July 3. Evangelist Will Hogg of Memphis leads with Samuel J. Tilton Williams organizing efforts. events extend to Sidney De Leon and surrounding areas with town delegations and community services to engage all residents.

Bank Robbery at Zephyr Bank Nets About $1200

A masked bandit robbed the First State Bank at Zephyr on Tuesday morning, taking roughly $1200 as a companion waited in a touring car. D. A. Johnson hid part of the cash. the thieves fled toward Mullin. Local officials summoned a grand jury and questioned Chalmer Jasper and Jim Garvin as the inquiry continues.

J C Grant Named Principal of Comanche High School

John C. Grant of Dublin was elected by the school board to lead Comanche High School for the next term. He holds a bachelor’s and master’s from the University of Texas and has spent the past two years as Florence Texas superintendent of schools. The board notes the faculty is nearly complete with only an athletic coach and a Latin teacher remaining.
