Daylon West Named Texas Boys State Representative
CHS senior Daylon Duane West was chosen to represent Comanche High School at the 35th annual American Legion Boys State at the University of Texas in Austin from June 11 to 17. He joins 900 Texas youths in a program to study government and civic leadership with a trip to the Capitol highlighted.

Lite-A-Bike Project Backed by VFW in Local Drive
The VFW Post 8460 sponsors a Lite-A-Bike program to apply reflective tape to youngsters bikes at Fire Station on Saturday June 14 from 9:00 to 11:00 am. Tape covers rear fender handlebars frame and wheels to improve night visibility and reduce post dark accidents among children ages 5-14.

Flag Day ceremony to honor Comanche County Bicentennial
Mrs. H K Allen of Temple ARB Commission member will present the National Bicentennial Flag and state certificates in Comanche Saturday morning. County Judge Albert Brannan will receive them as the county is named an official Bicentennial County. Dendy Feist a 12 year old Comanche boy injured May 31 in a fall down a steep Davis Mountains decline is reported doing as well as can be expected at Providence Hospital El Paso. He regained consciousness last Friday afternoon and walked a little on Monday with speech returning. He remains hospitalized for several days.
