Jago Slavia Musicians To Be Heard by Comanche People

Comanche will host the Radcliffe Chautauqua June 16 17 and 18 with free admission for children under fifteen. Elias Tamburitza Serenaders from Jugoslavia open the program in native costumes led by Charles Elias. Theodore Knox Concert Party follows with a mixed quartet and multi instrumental performances. A third day features the Dietrich magic and musical acts including Bamboo Chimes and Xylophone.

Barry Saog Receives Fruit Crushing Press

Barry Brothers have installed a juice crushing press to process berries and grapes that cannot be sold on the regular market. The screw press yields first grade juice for jelly makers and second grade with pulp for jam, with capacity 50 to 100 gallons per hour and storage options. Republicans of Comanche County to Hold Primary

Republicans in Comanche County plan the first primary in county history due to large Dr. Butte vote. The primary will mirror the Democratic one on the same day with fourteen voting boxes in all precincts. A full county ticket is expected. Republicans and leaners urged to participate.

Bryson Well Spud and Testing Advances Near Shallow Field

The C. V. Bryson well was spudded in on June fifth in the afternoon and progress continues steadily. The 1400 foot test has drawn local interest as the culmination of prior efforts to test this section, viewed by geologists as a promising shallow field. Contractor P. L. Burks expects completion within three weeks as water was first found at 135 feet and casing may be needed at about 200 feet.

Move to establish permanent Comanche County fair under way

Chamber of Commerce and Lions Club of Comanche advance plans for a permanent county fair as a center of development and social activity. A joint committee is authorized to organize and promote the effort with local leaders such as T. J. Williams and W. H. Carpenter backing the proposal for a shared community event.
