He helped pass fence cutting as a felony and witnessed county formation in 1857. survivors include daughters Ola and Floy. Funeral held at Shiloh Cemetery with nephews and grandsons as pallbearers.

Tom F. Herring 39 native of Comanche County and son of Isaac Herring died at Mercy Hospital Laredo Monday after months of illness. He led Herring Price Lumber Co. as president and general manager and was a civic leader in Laredo including Rotary Club work. He leaves Isla Lewis, a son Tom Jr and daughter Eddelweese, his parents and three sisters. Funeral held at 1820 Guerrero Street conducted by Rev. George Baker.

Charges Filed Tuesday Against Andy Johnson for DWI Crash
County Attorney D. P. Porter filed charges against Andy Johnson on Tuesday afternoon for driving while intoxicated after his car struck the rear of a City Fire Truck. Winds Cause Slight Damage Thursday
High winds swept through the city and rural area causing minor damage. Windmills owned by O. O. Brightman and C. P. St. Clair were damaged. A chicken house at John D. Waring Jr. was destroyed and two barns on the Cave Boyd farm were demolished. Several shingles were blown from the W. W. Kilpatrick home and tree limbs fell across yards.

Gunmen Burglarize Dublin Wednesday
Three or four gunmen burglarized four Dublin businesses early Wednesday binding three men with copper wire and slugging another. They blew open the Dr Fepper Bottling Company safe taking 200 cash 4000 cotton receipts and a 127 check then robbed the Majestic Case Hoffman Brothers Dry Goods and Reid Motor Company vanishing with a 1938 Ford sedan. Victims included John Ray night watchman S E Rowe and Bill Salyers with state rangers assisting Erath County officials in the investigation.

April livestock forwardings from Texas to Fort Worth and interstate points fell 28 percent from the prior year. Cattle moved 6 703 cars down 27.7 percent while calves rose 15 percent to 791 cars and hogs dropped 28.5 percent to 597 cars.
