Pair In Crash Are Fined Here For Drunkenness
Two Dublin men, John A. Gallagher and Elvis Warren, were fined in Justice Wetzel's Court this week for drunkenness after trials. Gallagher paid 30 dollars plus 27 dollars costs totaling 57 dollars. Warren paid 50 dollars plus 24 dollars costs totaling 74 dollars. Their arrest followed a vehicle accident on Highway No. 10 in East Comanche last Thursday night.

Burgess Rudd Passes, Texas Publisher and Leader Dead
Burgess Rudd age 67 a well known Texas newspaper man and Field Representative of The Comanche Chief died in a San Antonio hospital after an illness. Funeral services were held in Goldthwaite at his father's home with Rev. C. C. Klingman officiating. He had worked in Cleburne before moving to Comanche in 1933 and held multiple press and civic roles including county chairman of the Tom Hunter for Governor Club and precinct chairman of voting box No. 2 in Comanche. He is survived by his wife Ruby Hayes and his parents.

Fire department fights two Saturday fires in town
A fire of unknown origin caused damage at Connor's Go Manche Hatchery in the Lindsey building on the east side of the square. Firemen confined flames to the rear and spared the incubator. Earlier, a closet fire at Lionel Slider residence caused minor damage when wiring was energized for ironing.
