West Virginian Starts Internship at Blackwood Mims Hospital

Dr. Thomas A. Williams, a 32 year old West Virginia native and World War I veteran, begins an internship at Blackwood Mims Hospital in Comanche after June. He earned pre med at West Virginia University and graduated from Kansas City College of Osteopathy & Surgery on June 3. He is single, Presbyterian, and a member of the American Legion and Masonic Lodge. Hospital owners Blackwood and Mims praised his qualifications and fit for the community.

Galiga Resigns to Lead Killeen Kangaroos

P. T. Galiga, long time coach of Hillsboro Eagles and former coach of Co Manche India from 1952 to 1954, resigns to take the head mentor role with the Killeen Kangaroos. Hillsboro competes in Class 2-A while Killeen plays Class 3-A.

Murder Without Malice Charged At DeLeon

Charlie Floyd 65 of De Leon was charged with murder without malice after his car struck Susan Morgan 5 in front of her De Leon home. The incident killed Susan Monday. Floyd waived preliminary hearing and is jailed in Comanche County. The case may go before a grand jury in October. Funeral services for Susan were held at the First Methodist Church.

Dowdey Sudderth Opens Law Office and M D Degree

Dr Dowdey Sudderth son of Grady and Mrs Sudderth who earned an M D from the University of Texas Medical College at Galveston on May 30 and will intern at Detroit Memorial Hospital also opens a law office at 109 W Grand in Comanche with partner Ben Sudderth a 1953 UT law graduate. The Sudderths plan to reside at 707 N Elm and are Baptists. They welcomed a two year old daughter Sandi with Carolyn Pippen of Cisco. Sudderth previously led a strong primary showing in last July’s race and is a state representative for the 73rd district.
