Brook gets 20 years in couch murder trial
Clifford Brook, 21, was sentenced to twenty years in the state penitentiary after pleading guilty to the indictment that he killed J. D. Couch at his goat home last August 16. The trial opened Monday morning and the jury rendered verdict after two and one half hours. The case also involved Frank Barton, 19, found guilty of murder in the Couch case last week and sentenced to seventy five years.

Oil Leasing Near Gustine Delivers Early Week Activity
