15 Year Penalty for Comanche Murder Jury Returns Guilty Verdict
Frank Barton, 19, was found guilty of murder by a Fifty-Second District Court jury who sentenced him to 75 years in the penitentiary after he switched from not guilty to guilty. The slaying of J. D. Demolishing Of The Courthouse Annex Is Started
The courthouse annex built during the 1920 oil boom is being demolished starting Monday. All offices moved to the new courthouse. The WPA funds $3,000 for demolition. Comanche County Tax Assessor Pettit explains a recently passed emergency tax law allows delinquent taxes to be paid with penalties interest and costs reduced and a six percent deduction on the total if paid before November 1 1941 and for all land in a single tract.
