Ross William McGuire born June 4 1694 died July 25 1943 at the family home in Buffalo community. He died suddenly Sunday morning after alighting from his pickup and his passing shocked many. A pioneer of Comanche County he served on the Board of Stewards and stayed active in church and county affairs. Rites at Downing Methodist Church were led by Rev. Sheroff of De Leon with burial at Zion Hill Cemetery in the McGuire family plot.
