Pfc Ardis Eugene Johnston, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Johnston of Comanche, was wounded July 12 in the North African area amid Sicily’s invasion. He was moved to a base hospital in North Africa and is reported to be improving. a letter to his wife describes longing to return home and see their baby and family.

Tom L. Robinson Dies in Gatesville Tribute
Tom L. Robinson, a teacher, court reporter and former district attorney, died of a heart attack Wednesday in Gatesville while reading a legal paper to a district court jury.
