Leon Lake Celebration Opens September Weekend
Eastland Texas hosts a two day event marking the Lake Leon opening with Congressman Omar Burleson as principal speaker. A three hour professional boat race with 60 to 70 racers sanctioned by the National Outboard Association follows the opening ceremony. An all day fishing rodeo, prizes for anglers, a helicopter sea rescue, a bathing beauty revue, and sponsor entries round out the festivities as Eastland and Ranger chambers expect thousands from Texas and the Southwest.
