A Friday night band concert and play featured Dr C A Greene and Mrs Iva Hart presenting a burlesque medicine show promising cures from J P Hoff's bald head to making Mrs S J Hicks a flapper. The performance included songs dances and comic skits with a cast of named locals and Hopi Indian themed roles drawing hearty laughter.

Highway survey advances in east section to Comanche

A preliminary survey of east Highway No. 10 from the Erath county line to Comanche was completed Tuesday. The county route is split into two sections to be contracted separately. Blueprints and details are under way and due in three weeks. After federal plan approval bids will go out and construction begin. Surveying of the west section toward Brown county has started.

Election Returns At Owl Confectionery Saturday Night

Returns for state and county races will be distributed at the Owl Confectionery Saturday night per Mr. Moody. Texas Election Bureau will post state results every thirty minutes and county returns on the bulletin board as they come in. Officials aim to finish county totals by eleven with co operation from judges, and expect to gauge early trends before midnight with Governor race featuring three major candidates.

Tri-Cities Gas may serve De Leon in coming months

The Tri-Cities Gas Company may purchase the plant serving De Leon. Construction on the Comanche to De Leon line progressed rapidly with over a mile laid in one day. If unobstructed, the section could be finished by Tuesday and gas supplied to Comanche before the contracted date, manager Patton said.

Comanche public schools superintendent W G Barrett wed Ada Lee Hill former Comanche high school teacher at the Hill home in Dawson The couple left for a brief honeymoon on the Texas coast and will visit relatives Barrett recently attended the University of Texas summer session in Austin and will return to Comanche to prepare for the new school term

Baptist Revival In Progress At New Church

Interest rises as evangelist Rev. W. R. Whatley leads a Baptist revival in a new church building. Sermons are concise and powerful drawing business people to attend and return home early. Several have joined by letter with more showing interest. by week’s end stronger appeals to the unconverted will begin with organized helpers. Music by the choir enhances services and large crowds attend both morning and evening, with the largest audience expected Sunday.

Primary Polls Open Early for Texas Democratic and Republican Contests

In Comanche County, Texas, the Democratic primary opens at 8 AM and closes at 7 PM, with the first Republican primary also voting within the same hours. Poll sites include the county clerk’s office for precinct 1 and the Campbell building for precinct 2, with judges and assistants listed. Democrats meet at 2 PM in precinct 1 at the district courtroom and in precinct 2 at Woodmann hall, as officials anticipate results after 7 PM.
