Mrs. Sarah Roberson, a Comanche resident aged ninety, cast her ballot last Saturday in the primary. The veteran voter reflects on past eras when a woman voting would have provoked scandal, noting how much has changed over the years.
Citizens discovering a stolen auto near the Nar road spotted three men stripping the vehicle in a ravine. Roy Huddleston was arrested while N B Price and J D Price Jr later surrendered. The car belonged to J G Bliff and had been stolen Saturday night from Geinan. Bond set at 750 dollars for Huddleston and 500 dollars each for the Price men.
Mrs. Sam Vernon of Memphis Tennessee visits Comanche as a guest of friends. She came to Comanche in 1885 as the bride of Sam Vernon editor of the Comanche Chief from 1885 to 1896. The couple later moved to Brownwood and New York.
The report lists winners by race and precinct including Lee Morris for commissioner precinct 1 by a clear margin, Graham for justice of the peace over Lester, a runoff in precinct four between N Nabers and 8 H Freeman, and names several precinct officers and public positions across Comanche and surrounding areas.
Tri-Cities Gas Company announced the purchase of De Leon gas properties including pipelines to Desdemona and the De Leon distributing system. Gas supply for Comanche hinges on completing piping to De Leon and laying a six inch main around the square.
The two week Baptist revival led by Dr Maddox at the local church ends Sunday night. By Wednesday fourteen conversions and fourteen additions have occurred, with many attendees already joining other churches. Preparations are made for large crowds at Sunday services as expectations rise.
Jess House and his wife, who were visiting Mr. House's brother W. T. House and Mrs. House's parents Mr. and Mrs. George Morris, have returned to their Arizona home. Mrs. C. P. St. Clair visits daughter Mrs. Whitten in Abilene.
The children’s Shakespeare Club directed by Miss Myrtle Martin and assisted by Miss Glen nie Heff will present The Dearest Wish on Monday August 22 at the high school auditorium. The program features fairy scenes and excerpts from plays studied by the club. Proceeds benefit the Parent Teachers Association.
The W. J. Wilhelm reunion will be held at Comanche Lake in the new city park on Monday, August 2. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and bring well filled baskets.

Melon dealers bought and shipped three cars of melons to northern markets this week. Farmers have pooled melons and shipped two cars to West Texas towns, where goods are sold in car lots or trucked to nearby towns.
Jax Kearby suffered painful burns Saturday after Jake spilled gasoline into a bucket and entered a smoke house with a lit cigarette. His sleeve ignited, the flames encompassed him, and he escaped by jumping into a dry tub and smothering the fire with blankets. He sought medical care and is expected to recover.
W. C. Odom and family relocate to Brownwood this week where he will run an automobile accessory business. Odom long led Comanche commerce, entering the variety store field in 1913, and his family will be missed in local business social and religious circles.
Former Comanche resident Will Garner died at his Snyder home on Monday July 26 after a brief illness. Born September 11, 1878, he married Jamie Davis in 1901 and is survived by children Edgar Willie Mae and Robert, plus brothers Alph and Walter and sister Mrs D Walling. He was buried in Oakwood cemetery under the Christian church and I C O F lodge rites, with Dr Klingman and Rev Hear conducting.

The annual Baptist revival starts tonight at Vandyke and will run ten days with morning and evening services. Preparations are complete and the pastor invites all to attend, urging punctuality for the singing portion before the preaching.
The city will formally turn on the lake water at 5 PM Thursday August 5 with Mayor J R Eanes presiding. A pump station gathering with speeches and a band concert will mark the event. Soft water will soon flow through city pipes as mixers arrive and wind down a thirst for abundant supply.

Attendees included several local families from Snyder, Cross Plains, Mangum, and other nearby towns.
J. B. Adcock traded his Comanche residence to F. M. Bradshaw of Gustine for a residence in Gustine. Bradshaw, a jeweler, will move to Comanche early next year.
