The Tarkic Avalanche reports the new Ford automobile for the market soon. It will have a gasoline motor, several horsepower, four pneumatic tires, and a steering wheel. Models include open and closed versions with windshield and top. It will require license plates on public roads.

McGuire Family Holds Reunion at Tabernacle in 1927

The McGuire family reunion occurred at the Tabernacle at Vandyke on Friday July 15, 1927. Despite a smaller crowd, most branches were represented and friends attended. A noon meal featured a large spread with coffee iced tea and lemonade. Joe Jones spoke on family loyalty representing Indian Creek relatives. The McGuires first came to Texas in 1851 settling in Comanche then a small frontier town. Otis Coker hosted Quincey Dial from Los Angeles visiting this week.

April to June sour cream sales and pasture overflow impact

April sales totaled 87.59 dollars for sour cream, May sales were 87.50 dollars, and June sales dropped to 71.34 dollars due to pasture overflows. By the 18th of the month, cumulative cream sales reached 61.34 dollars, with about half of that amount being sweet cream.

Record Crowds Fill County Wide Revival Meetings

Crowds grow each night as the County Wide revival near its close in Central West Texas. An 11 am service, a larger Sunday afternoon gathering, and a 4000 person Sunday evening crowd marked a record. Dr. Hogg's final sermon Sunday at 8 pm titled And He Said Tomorrow precedes two Sunday sessions Heaven and How to Get In and The Christian Woman.

Barn Fire Near Proctor Destroys Farm Equipment

A large barn belonging to Jud Moore near Proctor burned last week around midnight. Two Ford touring cars, two new sets of harness, a crib of corn, many chickens, maize, and about 100 bushels of oats were lost. Cause unknown. estimated total loss about two thousand dollars.

John A. Donaldson of Pontotoc Mississippi, a former Comanche superintendent who led the schools from 1903 to 1905, visited Comanche with his brother H L Donaldson of Pelion. He notes progress since his departure and sees former pupils now prominent citizens. He currently teaches and is superintendent at Sherman Mississippi.

Bumper county crops amid weevil report in Gomanehe county

Frigid weather gave way to a large turnout for the 4-H clubs annual encampment with about 74 boys and many girls and adults. Demonstrations, stock judging, and a barbecue luncheon highlighted the day while girls entered jars of canned fruit and vegetables for judging.
