The annual revival at the Sweetwater Baptist Church starts Saturday night July 22 with preaching by Pastor Rev. Roger Smith. Rev. Bob Watson of Houston leads the singing. Community members are urged to attend and participate per Roy Smith.
Rev. E. M. Shepard, in Kerrville for ten days, will fly his pulpit Sunday morning at 11 oclock. Sunday night the congregation is urged to worship with the Methodists in their revival meeting.
Rev. T. N. Carter will preach at eleven o'clock and Rev. DeWitt Van Pel at the evening hour at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. The pastor departs for a meeting with Bro. Frank Steele and returns by Sunday July 30. Local reflection on humility prayer and revival ends with a blessing from Pastor Gordon Barrett.
Tonight Friday July 21 a revival meeting hosts a special service on the lot east of the Post Office. Topic Will We Know Each Other In Heaven discusses knowing loved ones and the gender question in Heaven. The event is labeled family night and urges full family participation.
Plans for an old folk Sunday service at 11 oclock next Sunday at First Methodist Church. The event honors seniors ages 50 and above with flowers, music, and an old fashioned sermon. Everyone over fifty is in the elderly class. younger folks are urged to invite an elderly friend.
The open air revival is sponsored by the Methodist Church with nightly crowds increasing and morning services inspiring attendees. Committees, prayer meetings, and special work are being organized efficiently. Reverend Gordon speaks with earnest sincerity in 4.8 sermons. Brother Kennedy conducts song services and young people's meetings. You are invited to attend as prayerful expectations rise.
Mr and Mrs Joe Bukoviny announce the birth of a five pound daughter Lee Ann at a Uvalde hospital June 24 Grandparents Mr and Mrs Ed Norrid of Comanche visited the young lady Mr Norrid has returned and Mrs Norrid is expected home next week.
Descendants of the late A. J. and A. Isham met at Lake Eanes for their annual reunion with 70 members present and 58 absent. Visitors included Mr and Mrs Hardy Jones Lucille Close of Coleman and Tom Stewart of Comanche. Two deaths and two births were recorded since the last meeting.
Former Comanche County resident Mattie Miller Crabb dies in Dallas after a long illness. Funeral services were held at Forrest Avenue Baptist Church with interment at Grove Hill Cemetery. Born in 1883 in Fleming, she grew up in Comanche County and married there.
1903 to Charlie Crabb who sur vives her along with their two sons, Louis and Travis Crabb, all of Dallas. Surviving also are her father, J. D. Miller, Sr. of Gustine, and the following brothers and sisters, Will Miller of Gustine, J. D. Miller, Jr., of Dallas, Mrs. J. P. Wilber and Mrs. Ella Peoples of Dallas. Mrs. Crabb was converted in 1903 and united with the Baptist Church of which she remained a member until her death.

C A Smith died suddenly at his home in Proctor Friday afternoon July 7 from a heart attack after weeks of medical treatment. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon July 8 at the Proctor Baptist Church with Rev L D Hormburg officiating. Interment was in the Proctor Cemetery. He was born June 8 1867 in Georgetown Williamson County Texas and married Martha Jane Serren of Denton July 26 1893. They had 14 children R E Smith of Proctor Maggie Shelton of Throckmorton Texie Poster of LaFerria Dempsey Smith of Hico Coy McAlester of Monticello California Dora D Smith of Roscoe Jim Smith of Brownwood Pierce E Smith of Mullen and Frank Smith of Oakland California.
