Comanche County official E F Fagan reports amendments to the Federal Farm Loan Act will let Land Bank loans reach 65 percent of a farm’s normal agricultural value. The changes may let the Land Bank buy notes from the Federal Farm Mortgage Corporation and cut borrower interest to four percent by consolidating creditors. Also urged are faster loan closings through associations for long term Land Bank loans. In other news 101-year-old Ruth A. Butler of Beattie dies, burial at Copperas Creek with service by Rev. Charles Myrick. she was born in 1843 and moved to Comanche County in 1878.

Comanche County War Finance Chairman Roland Miller led Sixth and Mighty Seventh War Loan drives, earning praise from Texas War Finance Chairman Nathan Adams. County exceeded both E Bond and overall quotas with 111.42 percent of E Bond and 121.28 percent overall, ranking 43rd and 51st respectively in the district. All counties met the overall quota. several counties topped E Bond sales, led by Borden and Andrews.

Church Revival At Gustine Opens Saturday Evening
