Bibb’s Seed Watermelon Mystery From Early Town History
In the vacant town plat era folk mingled for commerce and socializing. A tale recalls Whitaker the merchant and a celebrated seed watermelon in 1887 or 1888, but the melon vanished leaving a sand-marked clue as witnesses watched.
