Summer Fertility Needed For Farm Fish Ponds
Bass grow fast only in summer and early fall during a 5 to 6 month season of abundant food. Fertile water fuels bluegill growth, but spawning runs deplete parent bass. maintaining summer fertility supports next year’s bass crop and controls bluegill overpopulation. SCS technicians emphasize continued fertility through spring to fall for best pond production.
