The Comanche Rodeo and Picnic drew a large crowd and strong county City cooperation. A countywide Old Settlers Reunion is planned for July 20 at Lake Banes with drive-for-transport help urged.
Local residents and out of town guests filled Comanche over the Fourth and holidays. Dallas pair Mr and Mrs Woods visited friends, Santa Anna’s Mrs Hill spent the weekend with the Armstrong family, Midland’s Queen Wetzel stayed with the Wetzel parents, and numerous others from Brownwood Dublin Austin and San Antonio joined in the celebrations.
Licenses issued for marriages in Brownwood De Leon and nearby areas. Names include Marie Johnson and Tucker among others with dates in June July. Deeds recorded show transfers in De Leon with modest consideration.
L. A. Irvin sells acres out of H. and T. C. Ry. Survey to E. J. Terry. Guy Carnes transfers 40 acres out of J. A. Redwine 8 survey.
A birthday dinner party hosted by H N Goodson and guests including Mr. and Mrs. E P Onstot and Fort Worth attendees celebrated Mrs Dora Greene born July 2. The house featured bluebells, zermins, dragons, and purple petunias with a day cake served to the honoree amid many messages and flowers.
The Flippo family thanks friends for deeds and assistance during W. Flippo's illness. Special thanks to Dr. Lane and Dr. Gray for their care, Rev. Gordon Barrett for comforting words, and Creek Ladies' Club for floral offerings. May God bless all.
