J A Mims Dies at Lamkin
J A Mims died Monday night June 23 at his Lamkin home after a long illness. A retired farmer, he lived within five miles of Lamkin for over 75 years. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 3 PM in the Methodist church with Eld Len Dalton and Rev R J Elkins officiating. Burial followed in Toliver Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, one son Orville Mims, four daughters Velma Lynch Lila Stephens and Freda Holcomb all of Lamkin and Leath Brown of Fort Worth, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Mrs. Ada Thomison Buried at Stag Creek
Funeral services for Ada Thomison 78 who died June 24 in an Austin hospital were held at the Baptist Church in May with interment at Stag Creek Cemetery. She is survived by three sisters Sallie Jones of Sidney Fannie Moore of Clyde and Willie Coulson of San Angelo.

The church lists Sunday services at 9:45 and 11:00 with youth and adult programs. Weekday circles meet for business, prayer, choir rehearsal and missionary group meetings at 3:00 and 5:45 as scheduled. Deacons hold monthly meeting Sunday at 2 p.m. in the church parlor.
