Wires Downed Across Central Texas Leaves Towns Without Power
Texas Power Company lines fell at several points on Thursday causing extended outages. Three miles of wire were down between Blanket and Comanche with breaks also reported between Blanket and Brownwood De Leon Dublin Stephenville and Eastland. Power returned in Comanche around 9 PM after crews repaired the Dublin De Leon segment.

Comanche County Receives State Aid for Schools
County Superintendent Gantz announced that Comanche County schools are allotted 15 277 dollars in State Aid for transports totaling about 1 200 dollars. Vocational equipment funds of 750 dollars go to selected schools with 250 dollars each for Vandyke Brysonville and Sipe Springs. Thirty nine schools in the county applied for aid. total exceeds last year’s by 32 dollars per school. Last year the county received 11 680 dollars. An inspection is planned next month with George P Brannon as inspector.

The local post office reports October November and December as the heaviest stamp sales quarter of the war period with three cent letter rate. Early January sales equal any full month in 1925 except December, driven by the Christmas rush.

The Comanche Nations Farm Loan Association held its annual meeting reporting a strong year. A cash dividend was paid, 220 loans totaling $439,190 were issued with three paid off and no delinquencies among loan recipients. Four thousand twenty six shares valued at $20,130 plus a $400 reserve account were noted. R L Eaton was reelected president, J D Bonner secretary, and a loan committee plus local inspector were named. 43 new members joined in 1925.
