Dry weather, safety concerns, and local business update in Comanche County
The Comanche County column notes months with minimal rainfall totaling under two inches, warns of a dangerous blind railway crossing near Durham's Pecan Plant, and urges a warning device installation. It also reports Choice Baking Company returning to Stanley Norris of Dallas and mentions an unusual integration issue with five black bears and an African lion at Joe Evridge's Newburg ranch. The piece ends with a quip about the Texas Longhorns’ New Year losses.
