Contract Ruling Continues on Tenant Landlord Arrangements
The ruling discusses cotton reduction contracts and landlord tenant rights in 1935. It says a landlord may rent land to another tenant or a tenant may rent from another landlord if the original tenant held only a one year lease in 1954. Any change must keep the same number and status of tenants as in 1934, preventing shifts from share tenants to sharecroppers or from sharecroppers to paid hands to gain larger benefit payments.
