12 Year Old Boy Shot While Playing Hold Up
John Doyle Hulsey aged 12 of Downine was accidentally shot by friend Raymond Johnson aged 14 with a double barrel shotgun while playing hold up. Hulsey suffered wounds to hand arm and face and was taken to a German hospital for treatment where he remained until Tuesday afternoon and is reported recovering.

City taxes for 1934 paid up to January 1 show 16122.03 compared with 14675.77 a year ago, an increase of 1446.26. Payments reach 74.2 percent of 21704.51 assessed, leaving 5582.48 delinquent. Comanche Independent School District 1934 taxes up about 1200. by February 1 12587.10 paid vs 11379.08 last year. Paid amount is 73 percent of 17201.95 assessed, with 4623.83 delinquent.

State Superintendent L A Woods announced an additional 3 per capita payment on this year's scholastic apportionment, bringing total remitted since 1934 to 7 per capita plus 2 per capita from last year's deficit. The State Highway Department in Austin approved grading drainage structures and surfacing for Highway No 10 from the Frisco Underpass through Comanche to Isham farm east of Comanche as part of a $2,630,000 1935 National Recovery program project in nine West Texas counties. Other counties gain bridges and grading on highways 4 7 10 and 191 bringing the total program cost to $11,850,000 with bids on new work to follow and some work already under contract.
