Come To Church Sunday At Sweetwater Baptist

The Sweetwater Baptist Church invites all to services every Saturday night and Sunday. Sunday School begins at 10 30 am with preaching at 11 30 am on Sundays and 8 pm on Saturdays. Rev. Otis Cahill is pastor. A box for Sata Orphans Home will be packed by March. Church is located on Beattie road 744 miles north of Comanche. Reporter Mrs Horace Smith. Everyone invited.

Foreign Mission Executive to Visit Presbyterian Church

Curry B. Hearn of the Executive Committee of Foreign Missions of the Southern Presbyterian Church will speak at the local Presbyterian Church next Sunday night at eight o clock. His headquarters are in Nashville Tennessee and he has been touring Brownwood Presbytery this past week. The public is invited and special music will be rendered.

Women Society of Christian Service Meets in February Session

The W S C S met Monday February 15 at 3 pm in the First Methodist church with 14 members present. Mrs Jenkins led the session and the program centered on Love with readings from 1 Corinthians 13. Mrs Foster presided over a brief business segment and a Mission Study is planned for February 22.

A community singing meet will be held every third Sunday afternoon at the Elm Grove Tabernacle. All residents are invited to attend.

Attendance Up at First Methodist Church Services

Last Sunday at the First Methodist Church showed higher overall attendance than prior Sundays, with Sunday School near its peak and the morning sermon well above previous highs. Sponsors for the day were Mr. and Mrs. Sutton Dudley and sons Charles and Bill. The Young People’s Choir was the day’s feature, praised for heartfelt gospel singing. Next Sunday sponsors are Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Biggs and Dale, Lloyd, and Louise, with a Choir of Women as a highlight. Sunday includes Laymen’s Day with 11:00 am service led by J. C. Wilkerson and 7:45 pm weeknight service. A warm welcome awaits visitors.

Services are planned at St Matthews Episcopal Church in Comanche at 3 p.m. Sunday February 28. Hilton Burks notes a minister from Connecticut stationed at Camp Bowie will preach.
