The Mihlam Oil Company's Powers No. 1 on the J. W. Powers farm eight and a half miles from Comanche was drilling Wednesday night at about 1 050 to 1 100 feet. Water flows seen earlier at shallower depths were cut off. Twelve and a half inch casing was set at 660 feet.

Adam Sliger 99 Confederate Veteran Dies at Home Near Comanche
Adam Sliger a longtime Comanche County citizen died at his home on the Hamilton road nine miles from Comanche at age 95. Funeral services were held at Shiloh cemetery led by Rev. J. L. Ray. Survived by four sons George Tom Rutledge Addie and three daughters in Texas and Oklahoma. many grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive. He was born in Tennessee in 1831 came to Texas in 1878 and owned several hundred acres. A Confederate veteran of the 19th Tennessee he helped form the John Pelham camp veterans in Comanche. His wife died in 1922.
