Clemons Motor Opens Modern Ford Plant in Comanche
Clemons Motor Company will formally open its new Ford dealership and service building at 2004 East Central Avenue on Friday February 14 with hours 3 to 10 pm. The plant features 16 028 square feet of floor space, modern white brick construction, large plate glass show windows, offices, rest rooms, tile floors, and bright lighting. Owner Clemons plans East wing expansion and relocation of the old car lot just east of the new building.

The city of Comanche led Texas in 1946 for the greatest ratio of sewer connections completed, according to a letter from George W. Cox M D director of the Texas Department of Health. City officials and Water Superintendent M E Jenkins were praised for the achievement with more than 500 sewer connections made in 1946 within the city limits.

Death details revealed for Sgt. Bob Wetzel in war letter
A War Department letter to Mr and Mrs C E Wetzel confirms Sgt. Bob W Wetzel formerly of Comanche and San Angelo was killed in action on April 7 1945. He was a tail gunner aboard a US Army Air Forces plane that crashed after a German fighter hit the tail. Wetzel’s body was recovered from an isolated grave and reinterred in a Belgian cemetery before his remains were to be returned home for burial in Oakwood Cemetery Comanche.
