Thirty five workers are on hand driving the appeal and soliciting contributions from listed volunteers in the community.

More than 200 residents from De Leon and the Leon Valley gathered at De Leon City Hall on Friday February 4 to oppose the Proctor Dam and Reservoir project before the U S Senate. The Leon Valley Protection Committee led by Victor Scott Paul Bradley and W C Mercleskey warned the plan would seize 16000 to 20000 acres of prime Comanche County land disrupt key farming areas and ruin pecan orchards valued at about 500000 in annual crops.
