75 year old Sidney Farmer licensed his 1924 Model T Ford for the third time here Monday and for the tenth year in a row led Comanche County in new automobile tag purchases. He bought the car on October 23, 1923, and reports over 25 miles per gallon. Tags for 1955 licenses went on sale Tuesday with about 6,000 cars expected to register. $100,000 total sales last year with most funds retained locally.

Mrs. Edna Sue Wilhelm 66 wife of Ibzan Wilhelm of Comanche died Tuesday February 1. Funeral services were held at the Comanche Funeral Home at 4 pm with Elder Len Dalton and Elmer Isham in charge. Interment in Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers included Dr. Jack Wilhelm Hardy Harris Wayne Wilhelm J. K. Wilhelm Gus Wilhelm Cyril Isham. Survived by two children Roy Wilhelm Snyder and Louise Wilhelm Comanche and granddaughter Anita Louise Wilhelm plus four sisters. Born December 15 188 in Dublin and married October 15 1919. She joined the Primitive Baptist Church in youth.

Youth 18 Dies In Gustine Car Crash
Eugene Brantley 18 of Cameron was killed when his car rear-ended a heavy truck at the Gustine city limits. Driver Billy Ray Barrett 20 of Abilene was hospitalized. The truck driver McNew was uninjured. Barrett, visiting Brantley in Abilene, was taking him home when the collision occurred on Highway 36. Brantley’s body was taken to the Comanche Funeral Home.
