Early Day History of County and Forgotten Town Cora

The piece recounts Cora as the first county seat with 80 acres split among H. C. Bumgarner and the heirs of P. G. Albin. It notes destroyed 1862 records, outlines early roads like Fort Phantom Hill and the Old Beef Trail, and recalls Robert E. Lee’s era travel routes. It laments scarce records and calls Cora a forgotten town.
