About twenty miles of REA lines were staked in Comanche County as project work progresses. The Fourth Annual Calf Show and Junior Livestock Show for Comanche County FFA and 4 H Club members will be held Thursday February 23 with judging at 2 pm. Prizes range from 1 to 12.50 dollars, and the best calves and lambs may be taken to the Houston Livestock Show February 25.
Brightman Tops Fort Worth Hog Market Tuesday
Oswell Brightman shipped a truckload of fat hogs to Fort Worth on Tuesday and led the market at 7.75 dollars per hundred. Brightman and Son recently acquired part of the old Martin Farm in North To Manche and have been feeding hogs for market.

At Harrisdale Herefords near Fort Worth two Comanche County breeders bought bulls for their herds. Tom Jackson of Sipe Springs and J B Alcorn of Comanche purchased young bulls from the Prince Domino line. One bull sold for 8000 dollars and another for 6500 dollars. The bulls will be exhibited at the Comanche Show on February 23.

Arrests Made In Two Theft Cases
R. E. Thurman of Clairette was arrested by Sheriff Wid Spivey on a charge of selling a car not owned by him. He allegedly sold the car to a wrecking company while posing as owner. The car vanished from a vacant lot near Comanche Grammar School. Ervin Lloyd of Gatesville was arrested for theft of farm harness near Carlton. the harness was recovered. Both men are jailed.

W Z Compton principal of Comanche High School was elected Superintendent of City Schools at a school board meeting Tuesday night. The board accepted the resignation of J D Bramlette effective July 1, praising his four years of service during which enrollment rose markedly and new programs and facilities were added. Bramlette plans to pursue other educational work. Compton, a John Tarleton and A M College graduate, previously led vocational agriculture and coached at De Leon and Comanche, developing a strong agriculture department and strong ties with local farmers and stockmen. He became high school principal three years ago and has balanced duties as director of vocational agriculture. He is well liked by students, teachers, and patrons.
