Local nursery man loses leg in Army truck crash
E A Williams suffered serious injuries when struck by an Army truck near Piggly Wiggly Store. The driver Private Cecil Campbell, whose brakes locked, blamed the truck’s mechanical condition. Williams had his left leg amputated above the knee at a German hospital and is recovering. Campbell, from Comanche County, aided Sergeant St Clairs household goods move when the incident occurred. Army inquiry blamed the truck after it was left at the scene for hours.
