Mrs. Dick Massingill entertained Virginia Massingill and schoolmates on Saturday January 31 for Virginia's sixth birthday. Nora Hamilton Lamkin reports a Jan 23 golden wedding in which J. M. Stricklin and Candance Brumley Stricklin, longtime Texas teachers, celebrate 50 and 25 years of teaching respectively. Martin Hanson discovered unusual twin oaks in his Harmony pasture last week. Two trees grew from separate stumps about two feet apart and shared a single limb about six feet above the ground, making origin unclear.
