Two Stolen Cars Recovered Here
Two stolen automobiles were recovered near Comanche Monday morning by Sheriff Wid Spivey and Deputy Perry St. Clair. A 1937 Chevrolet Sedan owned by Dr. George Blackwell of Gorman was found abandoned after being left on the Dublin Highway. A 1936 Chevrolet was burned on Rush Creek Road near Bob Easley’s residence. parts from Blackwell’s car were found with it. The Abilene stolen car had been taken December 20. No arrests yet as officers pursue a clue.

Mrs. Samm Ross, 46, of the Sidney community, died at her residence on Saturday December 25. Funeral services were led by Rev. Walter Scott of Brownwood with interment in Taylor's Chapel Cemetery. Born Kate Margaret Nichols on December 5, 1891 near Sidney, she is survived by husband Sam Ross.

The Desdemona High School, a 1922 oil boom era building costing about 75 000 dollars, burned down near 2 30 am on December 18. Insurance coverage was around 40 000 dollars. Two Arrests In Howard Motor Company Burglary
Raymond Wines and J D Cloud were arrested by Sheriff Wid Spivey on charges of burglary at Howard Motor Company dated December 12. The crime involved two pistols gloves and about $100 in cash with one pistol and the gloves recovered. Both defendants are held without bond.
