A pressure tank explosion at Joe's Filling Station occurred when an air compressor's cut off failed, blowing away the rear work room, tossing merchandise, and sending a bumper through a wall. A rooster was the sole casualty with damage estimated at 250 dollars.
A human rat hole trail through the cream storage room of Jim Lacy Mercantile Co at Sidney led to the main store after a burglary last Thursday night. Thieves entered the cream station by a knot hole wire latch and cut a partition wall opening behind feed sacks. Sheriff Gilbreath investigates a clue expected to lead to an arrest.

Cotton ginned in Comanche County through December 20 totalled 5 924 bales, down from 9 411 on the same date last season, a drop of 3 487, per John H Harris special agent.
M. B. Healer, manager of the local Chevrolet firm, announces the arrival of a new, low priced Chevrolet model here January 1. He declares the car line will include all models and feature Duco finish Fisher bodies, four wheel brakes, and a 107 inch wheel base.
Odis Huggins of Comanche Texas has been chosen to lead TU students in vocal support this year. A first time cheerleader, he is a former Tulsa High School track star and athlete, winner of the Tribune marathon in 1924 and 1928, and active in student government and the Hurricane Howlers. He is son of Mr and Mrs JT A Huggins and works as boys secretary at the YMCA while attending TU.
John S. Hart district road superintendent notes new high water bridges and drainage on the Pecan Belt will elevate the dirt highway toward state standards. With corrugated culverts en route, grading and leveling will occur to remove mud holes, and Hart believes hot topping may be feasible next year at little cost to the commission.
Mr Healer praises a low price car featuring a higher radiator blending into the body and an improved valve-in-head engine for faster acceleration. He claims riding and driving comfort are almost unbelievable for the price and notes General Motors is delivering these new cars nationwide in record time.
R F Hooker, agent for the Cotton Belt Railway, says northbound No 106 departs at 10 25 a m and southbound No 105 arrives in Comanche at 5 50 p m.

Barry sells his laundry plant to Wade Pearce and R B Sharp of Hamilton who plan Pearce moves to Comanche to run the business.
