Peanuts Move To Market Here At Steady Pace
About 85 percent of the Comanche County peanut crop has been harvested and five percent less moved to town. Up to Saturday Nixi total 20 229 000 pounds handled at public scales. Denny and local buyers project 24 000 000 to 25 000 000 pounds for the season with all peanuts likely harvested within ten days of good weather. Principal buyers include Durhams Pecan and Peanut, Texas Peanut, and Luke Grove.

Farmers Cheese & Produce Company reports shipping 35 carloads of dressed turkeys as part of the 1946 season. Andy H Norris explains many loads moved by truck to Fort Worth headquarters. A carload weighs about 24000 pounds and staffing has been 50 to 60 workers since the season opened in September.
