Power Failure Darkens Shoppers Night in Comanche
Hundreds shopped downtown for Shoppers Night when a power outage hit two sides of the Public Square and half the residential area went dark. The blackout lasted 14 to 19 minutes before TP and L repairs restored service after a ridge pin fell on a 12,500 volt primary circuit in the 1000 block North Houston.

Comanche Car Dealer Suffers Accidental Gunshot Wound
Comanche dealer Bob Arthur of Arthur Chevrolet & Olds Mobile suffered an accidental pistol shot wound at 3:30 Sunday afternoon while working on a car at the lot. He was treated at Brownwood Community Hospital and reported in good condition. The bullet entered his upper right chest and exited the right shoulder after the pistol fell from its holster and discharged on impact with the concrete. Arthur's wife Sue and their two children were present. He was expected to be released later in the week.

Sheriff's Department activity for November shows 27 major calls including eight burglary reports, 11 thefts, three vandalism incidents, two criminal mischief, one assault, one drowning, and one miscellaneous. Deputies served 24 warrants and 37 civil papers. after hour calls totaled 124 minor reports. Jail population was 49 with eight jailed by De Leon Police, eight by Comanche Police, and 36 by County and DPS.
