High speed chase ends as bus rams sheriff car
A 16 year old escapee from Gatesville State School led officers in a chase that ended when a Comanche County Sheriff's car was struck by an 18 passenger school bus traveling about 90 mph on State Highway 36 east of Gustine. No injuries were reported. The youth and three stolen officer cars were recovered. Sheriff Cummings, pursuing the bus, struck a deer two miles west of Lamkin, but was uninjured.

Dallas duck hunter found dead after missing week
The body of 57 year old Donald H Coultrup was recovered in Lake Proctor, near his abandoned 14 foot boat found Nov 17. Death ruled drowning. He leaves a wife Lisa and sisters in Oklahoma, with services held at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas.

The Comanche Maidens and Indians will compete in the Stephenville tournament Thursday through Saturday at the high school gyms. The Maidens face Menard at 4 PM Thursday with a Friday schedule of 6 PM and potential 2:30 PM or 8:30 PM games depending on results. The Indians open at 5:30 PM Thursday against Menard with potential Friday and Saturday games in brackets, culminating in the 8:30 PM Saturday championship. Game law violator roundup leads to arrests on state road
On a Friday night Game Management officer Billy Works stopped a car off State Highway 16 on Lake Comanche FM Road. He arrested two adults and four male juveniles for violations. One adult, a Comanchean, and another from De Leon faced misdemeanor marijuana charges. the De Leon resident also faced a felony controlled substance charge and remained jailed while the Comanchean was released on bond.
