Gold Kist Buys Durham Peanut Co.

Durham Peanut Co Inc and its subsidiaries were purchased by the Gold Kist Peanut Division of Cotton Producers Association, Atlanta. Irish Hereford heirs tour U S on $99 bus pass

Comanchean Benton Layman Found Dead in Busy Texas Store

Benton Layman died of suffocation in the Billy Gray Grocery Store in Ackerly near Lamesa after a fire alarm, with a $25,000 bond on prior cases in Comanche County. His car stockpiled groceries and cigarettes, the scene showed possible kerosene origin, autopsy confirmed death, services held in Lamesa. He left a wife and two children.
