Family members and relatives gathered at Board Church near De for a reunion on Sunday August 23 with a basket lunch and iced drinks. Attendees included Henry Wilkerson Riley Winn and many families from Mount Pleasant and Longview with close members of the Jones and Bragg families. Mrs J D Frank of Longview was unable to attend due to Mittie Mae’s illness. The group thanks donors who helped pay Eds fine to avoid Army entry and express hope he becomes a good soldier.

Drafting Single Men With Dependents in Comanche County
Comanche County local board has begun drafting single men with dependents while all physically fit single men without dependents have been called. By November married men with dependents will be called. Gen Hershey says reclassification to include married men could start in October and notes industry must replace draft age men with women and older workers.
