Comanche County Fair Opens At Livestock Showgrounds
The Comanche County Fair begins Thursday night at the Livestock Showgrounds in Industrial Park with over 50 booths and exhibits, a Jaycee Carnival, beauty contest, talent contest, and live music. The event coincides with a Fly-In and Air Show Saturday afternoon, led by Dr. Wm. T. Calhoun and others, adding family entertainment.

County Court Minutes Record New County Auditor and Purchases
The minutes show Elwood J. Eschburger of Hamilton hired as County Auditor at 1000 dollars per year. A joint land purchase of 9 acres from J H Burton for 350 dollars was approved with plans to develop an East West Airport, to be reimbursed by state and federal grants. Payments approved include 75 dollars monthly to De Leon Volunteer Fire Department and 50 dollars to Gustine department. Doyle C Crawford named County Jailer at 200 dollars monthly plus 1 50 per day for food. Jerry Hulsey awarded 360 dollars monthly as Deputy Sheriff.
