Comanche County Fair Schedule Highlights Local Events

On Thursday August 26 entries open from 9:30 to noon for Agricultural and Home Crafts excluding food with judging at 1 PM. The Comanche County Queen Contest airs at 7 PM in the Livestock Center Arena. Friday to Sunday feature air displays, an Air Show, National Guard display, and evening entertainment including The Road Runners. Carnival operates nightly.

Miss Comanche County Pageant Crown Night Planned

Forty contestants vie Thursday August 26 at 7 p.m. in the Comanche County Livestock Center with Jackie Barret serving as host and Miss Denton among top ten finishers to crown the new Miss Comanche County. Admission is fifty cents.

Jaycee Carnival Set Three Nights At Comanche Fair

The annual Jaycee Carnival runs Thursday through Saturday at the Comanche County Fairgrounds new Livestock Center beside the airport. Each night begins at 7 30 with five Jaycee booths bingo dart throw cork gun glass pitch and the dunking stool. Prizes include shot gun rifle electric appliances and a mixer. Carnival chairman Bill Goforth outlines plans for a fun weekend for Comanche residents.

Stolen Stereo Recovered After Comanche Burglary

A recent high school graduate faced Justice Court charges after burglary at John Beaty Jr. home in Comanche. Deputies recovered a stereo and 23 tapes Sunday from the youth’s garage and later retrieved 25 tapes at his home after a Tuesday statement. The items valued about 350 dollars were reported missing August 19 while the Beaty family was away.

Col Gardner to Headline Air Show At Local Fair

Col Marvin Lefty Gardner of Brownwood and Confederate Air Force will headline the air show Saturday at the Fair. CAF members fly World War II prop planes and participated in the Battle of Britain film in Spain. Dale Milford will emcee. the US Air Force will fly in missing man formation. Masons Plan Cox Honors Longtime member
