Comanche Indians start 1957 football with new coaches

Approximately 40 to 50 Comanche High School football hopefuls report Monday morning to Coach Bill Scoggins and assistants Don Walker and Travis Henry for opening workouts. Six lettermen return as Comanche, in District 8-AA, faces heavy graduation losses and a youth-filled lineup. New uniforms arrive as twice-daily workouts begin, with a Sept. 6 opener at McCamey and trips to Graham, Stephenville, Killeen, and Laboees on the schedule.

About 1,500 members attended Omanche County Electric Co operative annual meeting at Indian Memorial Stadium Comanche on August 16. M. A. Richmond and J. M. Foreman retired from the board.
