Plans for one or more chartered buses to take Comanche High School Indians to McCamey for the season opening game against the McCamey Badgers. Round trip tickets are 6.59 dollars, with deposits required at the Chamber of Commerce. A minimum of 29 riders is needed to run a bus, with potential for a second bus if interest remains high.

The Comanche Indians under Head Mentor Bill Scoggins and assistants Don Walker and Travis Henry conduct twice daily workouts through Monday then cut to once daily starting Tuesday when school begins. With 6 lettermen gone, sophomores and juniors lead a sizable squad as they prepare to face McCamey, a state powerhouse, in a week. Traveling roster will be 22 or 24 members. The Hartman family plans a reunion at Lake Eanes Park on August 31 and September 1.
Plans are set for the eighty third annual session of the Comanche County Baptist Association at the First Baptist Church in De Leon on September 2 and 3. Rev. Henry M. Chambers of Comanche will be moderator with Rev. Billy Beaty delivering the annual sermon and Cecil Fisher as song leader. The gathering opens Monday evening at 7 00 and runs to 9 25, with full attendance expected Tuesday.
The Elementary School PTA schedules a rummage sale on Friday and Saturday August 30 and 31 at Preston Tate by Thompson's Barber Shop in Square. A pre sale begins Thursday August 29 with rummage hours from one to five.
Members are reminded the Second Annual Meeting will be held Friday afternoon August 30 1957 at Lake Eanes Park. Registration starts at 1 30 pm. Five directors will be elected and by laws amendments discussed and voted on. Free drinks attendance prizes include three months of local telephone service. We look forward to each member attending.
