The Comanche Chief will again gather election returns Saturday night and post them on the bulletin board for the benefit of County Democratic Executive Committee Chairman Lane. He will have his office at The Chief next Saturday night to receive the returns. County law requires returns to the County Chairman when the count is complete or a report at poll close. Crowd of 1500 at Comanche REA meeting and barbecue
An estimated 1500 people attended the Comanche County Electric Cooperative annual meeting at Lake Eanes Park. The REA directors W. S. Clark L. W. Garman Raymond Levisay G. W. Caraway A. N. Near capacity crowds attended the three night performances of Comanche’s annual rodeo last weekend. Top RCA calf roper Royce Sewall of Brownwood won with times of 13.2 and 15 seconds, while A N Pitcock of Abilene posted a 12 second calf roping. $1700 in added prize money went to competitors, with Sewall also awarded a $150 saddle.

Highway 36 East to Hamilton Co to be completed
Comanche County will see the completion of State Highway No. 36 from four miles east of Gustine to the Hamilton County line a distance of about 6.9 miles. The project is authorized by the State Highway Commission at an estimated cost of 72300 with construction to proceed in the most economical manner. Mrs Kate Cunningham visited Dublin recently and was accompanied home by her brother M S Bradley and granddaughter Miss Marquita Ox.

Population Count To Be Conducted In Comanche
Directors of the Comanche Chamber of Commerce voted Tuesday night to conduct a population census of Comanche City during the next month. A special committee was appointed to hire census takers for the survey in the coming weeks. They also discussed cooperating with the City and civic groups on a City Recreation Park and hiring a full time paid secretary. John D.
